It snowed this weekend here in Salem, Oregon. None the less, my heart is dreaming of sunnier days and warmer weather. I’ve already purchased my first Spring dress of the season and am drooling over other flowy, floral numbers to fulfill all my springtime dreams.
I thought it was about time to do another life update post. The last update post I did, I told you guys that we were moving (read that post here). Unfortunately, what that didn’t mean is that we had bought a house. You can go back and read that post for all the details, but today I’m so excited to give you guys some good news!
I swear that 2018 is already flying by. I can’t believe that it’s already February and that Valentine’s Day is almost here! I’m so, so excited, because Valentine’s Day is my favorite! I love the candy, the hearts, and all the pink!
It basically rains here 9 months out of the year, so when there’s a little bit of sun you have to enjoy it. Wally and I snuck out to take a few pictures the other day while the sun was still shining. We walked across the street to the school and probably laughed way too hard while he took pictures of me. He’s always saying that I need to smile at the camera more.
It’s been a loooong while since I’ve done a current favorites post (read my last one here). Since Wallace and I made the decision to move in with my Abuelita in September, I’ve tried not to add to the clutter we currently own (if you’re behind, you can read more about our house hunting journey here). We live in a small spare room, where we mostly have our clothes and not much else. All that goes to say, I haven’t had a whole lot of new products to share with you! But today, I’m resurrecting my old “Current Favorites” posts, because I think they are so fun! It’s such an easy way to share with you guys all the things I’m currently loving and think you would too.
Today I wanted to take the time to do a little get to know you. Sometimes I feel like I get pretty personal on Sagebrush Roads (read some deep posts here and here). At the same time, I feel like there is so much about me that you guys don’t know. As much as I love creating pretty images and fun content, I want you guys to feel like there is an actual real life person behind Sagebrush Roads. So, I’ve taken the time to write down some facts about me that you may not know!
Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed their NYE and had a wonderful starts to 2018! I got sick with a bad cold right in time to ring in the new year (bleh). BUT! I’m back at it and wanted to share some goals for 2018 with you all!
Having a good coat this time of the year is a necessity. But, finding a coat that is affordable, practical, and cute is hard to do. There are so many stylish coats out there, but outerwear can be expensive. Shopping for more affordable options can leave you with cheaply made coats that won’t really protect you from the cold.
This year I invested in a few coats that were both very affordable and surprisingly good quality. I had my eye on a camel coat that was around $200. That obviously was not going to go on sale enough to fit my budget. So, I was super excited when I found a knock off version at Old Navy! I’ve actually had really good experiences with buying outerwear from Old Navy in the past. I scored this coat on sale for 50% off and only paid $30. Much better than $200!
Happy Wednesday everyone! And a belated Merry Christmas!
I hope everyone had a sweet time with family and friends. I had a special Christmas surprise and got to have Wally home for Christmas Eve. We got to spend the day with my family, and go to the candlelight service at church together. There really is nothing better than taking the time to reflect on the important things in life. Being surrounded by your loved ones, and focusing on the love of God and the gift of his Son. I love all the traditions and fun of Christmas, but the older I get, the more important the true meaning of Christmas becomes to me.
To be honest, I’m still in complete shock that Christmas is almost here. But I’m not complaining. Wallace is finally home from training on the East Coast and we’re celebrating with everything Christmas! Ice skating, Christmas shopping, eggnog sipping… It’s all on the list! Since he was gone for most of December, I’ve been anxious to get as much Christmas cheer in our lives as possible! I’m basically the female version of Buddy the Elf at this point. Can you blame me?
